DOWAGIAC — Police are investigating after gunshots were fired in Dowagiac on Saturday night.

At approximately 9:03 p.m. Saturday, Dowagiac Police were dispatched to the area of E. Wayne St. near McOmber St. in reference to some shots being fired in that area. Officers responded and located 3 shell casings along the street on E. Wayne St. Officers contacted several residents in the area who heard the shots however no one reported seeing anything specific to a suspect.  

Officers reviewed some of the video footage from residences in the area and noted a dark colored sedan, possibly a Ford Taurus, driving through the area when the shots could be heard.  Officers searched the surrounding area for a vehicle matching this description however did not locate anything. There has been no damage to residences, vehicles, or any other property reported and no reports of any injuries from this incident.
