Niles man charged with accosting children for immoral purposes, other crimes

HOWARD TOWNSHIP — A 38 year-old Niles man has been arrested and charged following an investigation into allegations of child sex crimes, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.

Stephen Frank Gill, 38, of Niles, was arraigned in the Cass County’s District Court Tuesday for the charges of accosting children for immoral purposes, using a computer to commit a crime, and possession of a controlled substance. Bond was set at $50,000. 

At approximately 5:45 p.m. Sunday, the Cass County Sheriff’s Office conducted a search warrant on an address on Lake Street in Cass County’s Howard Township. The results of this search warrant was the arrest of Gill and the collection of evidence relating to criminal matters. 

The case remains under investigation and anyone who has information regarding this case is asked to contact the Cass County Sheriff’s Office at (269) 445-1560.
